Round 6 Western Cape Power Series Championship Weekend Report

What a thrilling weekend it was for Racing Spirit at Round 6 of the Western Cape Power Series Championship! The team came prepared with two standout cars, competing in the Le Joubert Sports & GT class. It was a first for Racing Spirit to have both drivers racing after their team debut in Round 5 was missed by Connor due to an injury. The team made up for it with a stellar weekend.

Connor Kilbride in the E46 M3 had a spectacular showing in Class B. He is really starting to get to grips with the new car and the on-track performance was evident of this. Connor secured pole position in qualifying and carried that momentum into race 1, where he clinched the win. He kept up the strong performance with a solid 2nd place finish in race 2. These impressive results earned Connor the overall Class B win for the weekend! A massive confidence for the Class D champion from 2023.

Meanwhile, Tristan de Nobrega took the wheel of the Nissan 350z in Class D. His driving experience was evident as he qualified 1st in class and dominated both races with commanding victories. Tristan’s performance secured him the overall Class D win, marking a perfect weekend for the team.

A special shoutout to Nian Du Toit Racing for their exceptional work in running and prepping the cars. Their meticulous attention to detail and dedication were instrumental in our success.

A massive thanks also to RaceDriver South Africa for their invaluable driver training and mentorship, which undoubtedly played a key role in our drivers’ exceptional performances.

The team are also incredibly grateful to their sponsors: Spirit Invest, Appleton, Warwick Wealth, and Cadiz for their unwavering support. Their contributions are vital to the team’s achievements on and off the track.

Additionally, the team would like to extend their appreciation to Ravenoland Sparco South Africa for their top-quality products that keep the cars running smoothly and the drivers performing at their best.

“Here’s to more success and exciting races ahead! Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey. See you at the next round!”
