The Spirit Foundation Education Programme 2025

2025 has been a remarkable year for the Spirit Foundation Education Programme — a year defined by growth, resilience and meaningful impact.

152 scholarships were awarded this year, supporting learners across Western Cape high schools with access to quality education. Our partnerships also expanded, welcoming two new schools into the Spirit Foundation family.

We are particularly proud of the fact that Spirit scholars achieved exceptional academic results, with an impressive increase in English Home Language averages and a growing number of learners choosing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM-focused subjects). But our work goes far beyond the classroom.

The Spirit Foundation continues to nurture well-rounded, confident young people through holistic development, in this regard, learners took part in mentorship and skills programmes, attended a two-night leadership camp, built confidence through Learn to Swim and strengthened study habits through tutoring and workshops.

A standout addition this year was the Spirit International Football Academy (SIFA), empowering young athletes to shine on the soccer field, while performing academically in the classroom.

Looking ahead to 2026

Our vision for 2026 is to expand opportunity and deepen impact. To achieve this, we aim to:

Strengthen our STEM and digital literacy programmes, preparing learners for the future world of work.

Expand our mentorship network, connecting scholars with inspiring professionals and alumni.

Grow our sports initiatives, continuing to develop well-rounded, confident leaders.
